Isansys Patient Status Engine platform enables a ground-breaking hospital at home project to revolutionise patient care

Isansys Lifecare, a global provider of remote patient monitoring solutions, reveals that its Patient Status Engine (PSE) is the enabling technology for Zollikerberg Hospital’s ground-breaking project, 'Visit - Zollikerberg Hospital at Home' an initiative that is providing acutely ill patients with hospital-level care in the comfort of their own homes.

Zollikerberg Hospital in Switzerland has been at the forefront of healthcare innovation, and the ‘Visit’ project has already seen some impressive outcomes, with patients experiencing shorter hospitalisation periods, and the hospital seeing fewer readmissions, and exceptional levels of satisfaction from those taking part.

Among the key findings from the project's initial phase, the hospital reported that patients treated through ‘Visit’ spent approximately one night less in treatment compared to traditional in-hospital care. The average hospitalisation at home was 4.89 days, as opposed to inpatient stays averaging 5.53 days for the comparison group.

Data from the Neumünster Institute and Zollikerberg Hospital found that only 2.77 percent of ‘Visit’ patients required readmission - significantly lower than the 8.45 percent rate observed in the comparison group.

Patients and their families also reported high satisfaction levels, with an average rating of 5.83 out of 6.00 points for patients and 5.79 out of 6.00 points for family members. A remarkable 93.1 percent of patients expressed their preference for home-based treatment equivalent to hospital care.

Isansys supported the ‘Visit’ initiative by integrating its cutting-edge PSE into the program. This platform continuously and wirelessly collects and analyses patient data, providing real-time insights to healthcare professionals, enhancing the quality of care and patient outcomes.

Keith Errey, co-founder and CEO of Isansys Lifecare, said: "Zollikerberg Hospital's visionary 'Visit' project aligns perfectly with Isansys' mission to revolutionise patient care through advanced monitoring and data analytical solutions.

"We're excited to be working closely with a healthcare institution that understands the transformative value of connected solutions and data driven methods to improve patient experiences and outcomes. Our Patient Status Engine is delivering to healthcare providers the tools they need to monitor and support patients effectively in the comfort of their own homes, ensuring that every patient is connected and safe."

The ‘Visit’ project underscores the growing importance of remote patient monitoring in modern healthcare. By leveraging Isansys' innovative technology, this program aims to not only improve the quality of care but also enhance the overall patient experience while reducing the pressures on the hospital and staff.

The adoption of the Isansys Patient Status Engine by Zollikerberg Hospital is poised to set a new standard for patient care in Switzerland and beyond. The ‘Visit’ initiative is not only transforming the healthcare landscape but also ensuring that patients receive the best possible care where they feel most comfortable - at home.
